To get there, you will want to get to Nacimiento-Furgusson Road and take the turnoff to the Coast Ridge Trail which is a dirt road. The turnoff can be found on Google maps here. You can download my Coast Ridge Trail map here.
Take your time on Coast Ridge Trail it can be bumpy, and I recommend having 4 wheel drive but if conditions are good you can make it up without.
The views from Coast Ridge Trail are pretty good:

Try and get out to the campsite early because they can fill up since it is free and they do not require a reservation. But the views are totally worth it when you get to Prewitt Ridge!
Prewitt Ridge Campground is not much of a campground, it's off the beaten path camping. Make sure you are prepared to not not have access to water toilets are garbage cans.
Since Prewitt Ridge is such a beautiful place, make sure you are prepared to pack out all your trash and I recommend bringing a good old wag bag (Amazon Affiliate) for all your bathroom needs.
If you have any questions about the drive or the location please feel free to ask!
